Ghosts of Georgia Investigation report
On December 1, 2012, GOGPI investigated claims of paranormal activity at a privately owned home in Dahlonega, GA. The activity reported at the house is as follows: Hearing noises, banging, scratches on walls, walking, movement of objects, growls, yelling, and breathing. Seeing flashes of light, moving/disappearing objects, unusual water materialization, and unusual imprints on the wall.

Equipment used by Investigators:
Cameras: Two Canon Rebel digital cameras and Four IR Video Cameras connected to a J2000 DVR.
EMF Meters: Electro Sensor EMF Meter, Cell Sensor, Digital EMF Detectors, Mel-8704R-KII and K-II Meter.
Audio Recorders: Sony P210 digital voice recorder and an Olympus D-10 digital voice recorder and Olympus VN-4100PC.
Thermometers: Cen-Tech mini non-contact infrared digital thermometer and an Omega HH68K ambient thermometer.
Condition of the home:
The house was in good condition, structurally sound no drafts through windows or doors, and utilities were in good shape and well maintained.

7:00 pm we set up the DVR system and IR cameras along with several audio recorders then we left the house from 7:47 pm to 10:30 pm. When we returned we started the investigation.

main floor, no one was moving upstairs.

was walking around.

Findings:
GOGPI was called to investigate the above claims of activity. Base reading in the house were within normal limits, temperature normal for conditions, EMF were within normal reading, except around the electrical equipment and electrical panels where they were higher, as expected. In the basement bedroom we found a higher than normal readings that ran across the ceiling, above the foot of the bed, and down the outside wall. The readings were consistent for the duration that we were there. The readings didn’t appear to be paranormal in nature but probably from the wiring in the house.
We did not capture anything on video or in our pictures but did record numerous EVP’s. The investigators all had some type of unexplained personal experience, see below. Some of the experiences confirmed some of the claims of activity by the client.
It is hard to say where the activity is coming from since the house has many antiques in it from various locations. Also the house sits on land where Native Americans use to live along with where Civil War skirmishes occurred. It was also an area where moonshiners use to make their product and miners looked for gold. Some of the activity in the basement bedroom may be contributed to the high EMF readings in the room around the bed. Spirits could be using the energy to manifest, move objects, and even the touching of the client and family. We also feel that the client has a heightened sense to spirit energy and they may be trying to communicate with him.
With the claims of activity from the home owner, which several different people have experienced, the investigators personal experiences, and the EVP’s we feel the home has paranormal activity but we cannot say it is haunted. We do not feel that there is anything harmful in the house but believe the spirits are trying to communicate with some playfulness interjected. We recommend a follow up investigation to see if we can duplicate some of the results of this investigation along with finding more evidence of activity to be able to confirm if the house is haunted.

Personal Experience summaries from investigators on the investigation:
Ed:
While in the game room I heard what sounded like footsteps above the room and a loud thump sound. No one was walking in the house at the time. While in the study I heard footsteps in the hallway, again no one was walking in the house at the time. I also heard what sounded like a growl but could have been a disembodied voice and no one was talking at the time. In the dining room I heard another disembodied voice and again no one was talking at the time.
Gretchen:
Upon walking into the living room, there was a picture of the client’s brother. We hadn’t met the client, but I knew there was something not right with the subject in the picture…I voiced my concern to Laurie. The client later shared with us that his brother had passed and his Urn resides in his mother’s room.
I heard a voice in the client’s room while setting up the camera. Laurie was in the hall outside the room, and she was talking. The voice I heard was a whisper.
I saw two separate green lights in the Pool table room during our sweep. Had a moment where the air shifted and I felt itchy. I heard a voice twice during that same sweep. There seemed to be distant bangs, they were not loud though.
In the client’s room I felt like the bed was swaying for about 15 seconds or so, I never felt like someone crawled up though and no one played with my feet. I felt itchy during that time, which is often a sign of energy for me. I think we also believed that we heard steps on the stairs from his room.
When Laurie and I were in the living room doing a silent EVP season I heard bangs coming from the front of the house.
There were bangs and knocks off and on at base. I ran a recorder…hopefully I will capture some of those things to present to the client to see if they are normal house noises or not.
My favorite experience of the night was during baseline readings upstairs walking down the hallway I looked into the bathroom…there was a momentary white cloud in the bathroom. It was dull, not bright, and was gone as fast as it was there. I questioned what I saw at the time…but I feel it was something I truly saw.
I also had a shared experience with Ed. I was at base and Ed and Laurie were in the dining room. Ed and I both heard a loud sigh, none of us had done that.
Laurie:
As I was walking through the foyer and started to turn toward the stairs I heard a very loud male hiss “HEY” near my left ear.
Later on when Gretchen and I were in the pool room downstairs, I did feel like the air pressure changed while we were in there. I believe I experienced that phenomenon twice while in that room.
I also heard numerous unexplained noises on both levels of the home.
While in the kitchen, I heard a very strange “Ting Ting” noise coming from what I thought was the family room by the clock. Nothing was found to explain the noise.
I also heard various noises coming from the dining room area, the hallway, and later in the study upstairs.
While downstairs in the pool room, I heard what sounded like someone possibly taking a few running steps upstairs and also heard a dog bark….both were captured on recorders.
Also, while we were doing EVP in Erik’s room, it sounded like someone walked up to the door leading to his bedroom by the bathroom which was closed at the time.
