Ghosts of Georgia Investigation report

On April 2nd, 2011 GOGPI investigated claims of paranormal activity at a private home in Columbus, GA for the third time.  Claims of activity including: hearing unexplained noises, such as scratching on the windows in the 1st bedroom at 3:00 am. Objects being moved, seeing shadows and apparitions in the home.

Condition of the home:

Small wood frame house built in the early 1920s. House was Empty 1959-1968. The present owner bought the house from Mary in 1968. No central Air conditioning. Home has been kept in good shape. There is a finished attic room above the house. This was completed by the present owner after he bought the home. There was only one bathroom when the house was built but was later remodeled putting a wall up in the initial bathroom making two bath rooms. There was a wall removed in the kitchen to incorporate two rooms together.

Equipment used by Investigators:

Cameras: Two Canon Rebel digital cameras and Four IR Video Cameras connected to a J2000 DVR.

EMF Meters: Electro Sensor EMF Meter, Cell Sensor, Digital EMF Detectors, Mel-8704R-KII and K-II Meter.

Audio Recorders: Sony P210 digital voice recorder and an Olympus D-10 digital voice recorder and Olympus VN-4100PC. 

Thermometers: Cen-Tech mini non-contact infrared digital thermometer and an Omega HH68K ambient thermometer.

10:30 pm – Living Room – Dog’s toy chirped/squeaked. No one touching it and it needs to be squeezed to make sound.

    1. During vigil – Flashlight EVP communication with positive results. Laurie and Ed saw the light reflection in mirror dim as if something passed in front of light source.

Findings:

This a return visit to this home to see if we could find more answer to the activity (see above) in the home for the client.

Base temperature and EMF reading were taken and all were within normal ranges, EMF 0.0- 0.1 and temperature readings 79.8°, in the room in the attic, to 72°. We had one unusually high spike on the EMF meters in the client’s bedroom around a picture hanging on the front wall. We check outside to see if there was a power source but found none. We checked to see if there was an electrical wire running down the wall but the there was no high EMF readings above or below the picture, unable to determine the cause.

After the initial walk through all investigators met in the living room to discuss what they had found so far and to discuss the investigation when everyone heard a bird chirp, there are no birds in the home. It did it a second time and one investigator found a dogs squeeze toy between the arm and the cushion of the chair he was sitting in which everyone felt that he set it off by moving in the chair. Right after finding that toy and removing it another bird chirp sounded which did not come from that toy but the sound came from another area in the living room. Another investigator found another toy under another chair in the living room that no one was sitting in. We could not get the toy to make that sound again unless someone squeezed the toy.

During the investigation we did have flashlight communication in the clients deceased wife’s bedroom. The flashlight did come on and go off by request and claimed to be the deceased wife of the client. We also had another flashlight communication session in the attic with an entity that claimed his name was Charlie. Again the flashlight came on and went off by request. Unfortunately we cannot say for sure that it was a spirit communicating with us since we had no back up meter reading with EMF meters, thermometer, or audio equipment. During the session in the bedroom two investigators noticed a dark shadow move across the wall and could determine what caused it.

After the active investigation the investigators went to sleep for a few hours before leaving. After getting up one of the investigators found her St. Benedict’s medal missing off her bracelet. She remembered it being on her bracelet when she laid down, she also stated that it was welded on her bracelet. We checked the entire area where she slept and found nothing, we then searched the house and did not find it anywhere.

With the reports of activity from several different people, activity from the other investigations, and personal experiences from this investigation we feel that the location is haunted with intelligent entities. We would like to keep this investigation open with follow up investigations in the future.

Laurie:

A dog toy chirping

I smelled feces in back bedroom

The St. Benedict medal I was wearing that was in my bra when we went to sleep was missing when we got back up!

Larry:

I heard the dog toy chirp and found it under a chair with no one near it.

During the walk through I heard a woman’s voice in the back bedroom, upon checking I found no one around.

Ed:

I hear the toy chirp in the living room with no one near it.

Burnt smell in the attic, it lingered for about a minute then disappeared.

Smell of feces in the middle bedroom, it came and left quickly.

Shift of light in the reflection in the mirror in the middle bedroom, looked like a shadow passing by.

Back Bedroom (Bedroom 3) – Angry Spirit “Sam”

Middle Bedroom (Bedroom 2) – Evil spirit in room, same as before, telling Lisa that the items in the room are Mary’s

Front Bedroom (Bedroom 1) – Nothing

Kitchen – Very oppressive, audibly hearing someone repeatedly saying “Danger” “Danger” in a whispering voice, fees very eerie.

Dining Room – Nothing

Laurie:

Brick our building – Very heavy vibe

Attic – Very heavy presence by bed and window. Heaviness in side attic door on right, storage area. Attic area for men, pick up the date 1936.

Bedroom bathroom – Concerned about all the mirrors facing each other.

Bedroom 3 – Closet in bedroom

Bedroom 2 – Presence of elderly lady. Feels like activity follows client.  Feels like someone sits in the blue chair on left.  Picked up the names – Charlie, Jacob, Patty, Anna Marie, and Jonathon.
