On April 13, 2013, GOGPI investigated claims of paranormal activity at a Old Jail/Museum in Ashburn GA. The activity reported at the Jail/Museum is as follows: Unusual sounds, voices, shadows, unusual odors, brick being thrown, people being touched.

EMF Meters: Electro Sensor EMF Meter, Cell Sensor, Digital EMF Detectors, Mel-8704R-KII and K-II Meter.
Audio Recorders: Sony P210 digital voice recorder and an Olympus D-10 digital voice recorder and Olympus VN-4100PC.
Thermometers: Cen-Tech mini non-contact infrared digital thermometer and an Omega HH68K ambient thermometer.
Other: Spirit box and mini Maglight flashlight.

The jail was operational from 1906 to 1994.

History:
Originally built in 1906, this brick building in Ashburn, Georgia was used as a prison until 1994. The sheriff lived with his family on the ground floor with prisoners upstairs.
Findings:
We would like to thank Ben Baker and his daughter Susan for their hospitality and assistance with the investigation!
GOGPI went to the Crime and Punishment Museum ( the Old Jail) in Ashburn Ga. to investigate claims of paranormal activity. Base reading in the museum were within normal limits, temperature normal for conditions, EMF were within normal reading, except around the electrical equipment and electrical panels where they were higher, as expected.
We did not capture anything in our pictures or video but did record numerous EVP’s from the location.
With all the stories of activity from many different people, our EVP’s, and personal experiences from the investigators we feel that the Museum has paranormal activity and is haunted. We do not feel that anything negative is there but spirits from the past willing to communicate with the living. We recommend doing a follow up investigation to get more evidence to support other claims along with duplicating the results we had.

Personal Experience summaries from investigators on the investigation:
Gretchen:
I heard conversation while setting up at base, coming from the first floor, It was conversational. I heard footsteps on the stairs while I was setting up the camera downstairs. I heard a voice in the parlor too while setting up. I heard a voice in the general ward during my investigation, it was female. Then saw that little boy in the front hallway peek into the parlor. Then with you I heard the very loud sigh, but we questioned if it was Ben or not.
I did have a feeling we were not alone in the basement, all three times we were in there. EMF was flat in there. I felt there was movement/motion outside the general ward while Susan and I were investigating in there. I felt there was a woman with us in the woman’s ward, although the voice we got over the box was a male if I remember correctly.

I heard a loud sigh the same time Gretchen did in the living room.
