Condition of the Building:
Building is approximately 90 years old and was built as a two story house that is being used as a business. The building has been upgraded over the years and is in sound shape. The outside doors and windows seem fairly tight for the age with little or no drafts. There seemed to be some small opening in the roof area where small rodents had gotten in. The utilities were in good shape.
.
Equipment used by Investigators:

Cameras: One Canon Rebel digital camera and Four IR Video Cameras connected to a J2000 DVR.

Investigation

Team 1 – Larry and Ed– 9:30 pm

1. 9:32 pm – Attic – 66 average degrees in the main room of attic, 69 degrees in the smaller rooms off the attic. 0.0 – 0.1 EMF in the main room, 0.1 – 9.0 in small room with the light.
a. 9:48 pm – Start EVP session – 10:10 pm End EVP session
b. During EVP, base heard little floor board noises. Keep hearing noises up front.
c. Center room of attic – there was a meter spike and Ed and Larry left one of the small rooms I the attic. Larry got meter spike as well.
d. Discovered mice in the attic – team saw a rather large mouse in one of the small rooms.
2. 10:12 pm – Massage Room – 66 average degrees – small laundry room, 63 degrees – 0.0 EMF and 0.1-0.7 in laundry room.
a. 10:20 am – Start EVP session – 10:28 End EVP session
b. During EVP session – team heard small tapping noise in the salon room.
3. 10:30 pm – Bathroom – Debunked client’s claim the medicine cabinet door opens by itself. It turns out it is when the bathroom door opens and closes. The pressure causes the medicine cabinet door to open.
4. 10:38 pm – Salon – 66 average degrees – 0.0 EMF
a. Debunked the small tapping sound heard while team was in Massage room – turned out to be the small heater clicking.
b. 10:43 pm – Start EVP session – 10:50 pm End EVP session.
5. 10:54 pm – Kids vitamin room – 59 average degrees, 0.0 – 0.1 EMF
a. 11:02 pm – Start EVP session – 11:07 pm – End EVP session
6. 11:08 pm – Check out room – 63 average degrees, 0.0 EMF
a. 11:12 pm – Start EVP session – 11:17 pm – End EVP session
b. Massage room door closed by itself – debunked, door is off square, not level.

Team 2 – Beth and Christine – 11:40 pm

1. 11:42 pm – Attic
a. 11:57 pm – Christine heard shuffling and a female voice from the top of stairs
b. 11:58 pm – Start EVP Session 12:08 am – End EVP Session
c. During EVP session – Beth thought she heard male voice – and we both heard footsteps on stairs after Christine heard female voice. Later the footsteps on the stairs were debunked when we found out Larry had walked out of the base area. We discovered noise from the floor boards travels all over the building. We had him repeat the same thing he did when we heard the footsteps, and it was the same sound we had heard during EVP.
2. 12:00 am – During EVP Base (Larry) heard what sounded like chimes in the hallway.
3. 12:12 am – Massage room
a. 12:15 am – Start EVP session – 12:22 am – End EVP session.
4. 12:22 am – Salon – K2 went up to red once
a. 12:26 am – Start EVP session – 12:33 am – End EVP session
5. 12:34 am – Kids Vitamin Room
a. 12:38 am – Start EVP session – 12:45 am – End EVP session
6. 12:45 am – Check out room
a. 12:49 – Start EVP session – 12:54 am – End EVP session – back to base

Team 3 – Ed and Christine – 1:30 am – went to the front porch to try and debunk the blue light Christine saw earlier.
1. 1:50 am – Porch and around the outside of the house
a. Christine saw a flash of light again on the pole as they were sitting on the porch coming from the inside of the house. She saw more flashes of light from inside by the front door.
End of Investigation 2:22 am

Findings:

This was a very enjoyable investigation and the client was wonderful! We tried to find the causes of what the client and others had experienced in the building.

The EMF reading remained constant, 0.0- 0.1 Miligause but would go higher around the lights and electrical appliances, as expected. We did have a few EMF pikes but not find the reason why they occurred. The temperature remained steady but dropped as the night progresses. WE didn’t record anything on video or pictures but had recorded numerous EVP’s through out the building and outside.

One of the clients claims was the medicine cabinet door would open on it’s own. Upon examining the cabinet we found the latch to be loose and not hold the door tightly shut and could open on it’s own with a slight bump on the floor or walls. Another claim was that the door to the massage room would close on it’s own. We found the door propped open with a door stop. When we removed the stop the door would swing shut. We tried to see if the door would stay open with out the door stop but it would close every time we tried it. We found that the door and frame we off level which caused the door to shut. While investigating we found that if someone would walk in the downstairs hallway or rooms it would sound as if someone was in the room upstairs walking around. We can’t say for sure that this is what has caused the occurrences we can say that these are alternate explanations to some of things going on.

We were unable to find a cause as to why items have disappeared from the store but would like to do a follow up investigation in hopes to find the cause.

The investigators had few personal experiences but what had occurred we could not explain. With the stories from the client and the EVP’s we feel that there is paranormal activity occurring but we cannot say the building is haunted base on this investigation.
