On May 19, 2012, GOGPI investigated claims of paranormal activity at a place of business in Cartersville, GA. The activity reported at the business is as follows: Hearing footsteps, voices, doors closing and feelings of being watched.

Cameras: Two Canon Rebel digital cameras and Four IR Video Cameras connected to a J2000 DVR.
EMF Meters: Electro Sensor EMF Meter, Cell Sensor, Digital EMF Detectors, Mel-8704R-KII and K-II Meter.
Audio Recorders: Sony P210 digital voice recorder and an Olympus D-10 digital voice recorder and Olympus VN-4100PC.
Thermometers: Cen-Tech mini non-contact infrared digital thermometer and an Omega HH68K ambient thermometer.
Condition of the business:
The original building is over a hundred years old and had additions built onto it over the years. The whole building is structurally sound, the utilities are in good condition, windows and outside doors seem solid with little draft from them, very good upkeep on the building as a whole.

Findings:
GOGPI was called in to investigate the above claims of paranormal activity. We arrived and set up our DVR system along with four IR cameras. We then took base temperature and EMF readings throughout the building. Base temperature readings were within normal range for the conditions, EMF readings were within normal limits as well but were higher around appliances and electrical panel as expected. The areas of high EM fields could be an explanation as to why some people feel like they are being watched, hearing disembodied voices. There were some small spikes in EMF during the investigation but were inconclusive as to what caused them.
We did record numerous EVP’s throughout the building but nothing unusual in the pictures or video.
Several investigators had some type of personal experience, see below, that could not be explained.
With the claims by the client and other people in the office, personal experiences of the investigators, and the numerous EVP’s we feel that the building does have paranormal activity but cannot state by one investigation that the building is haunted. We would need to conduct another investigation to see if we can come away with similar results to determine if the building is haunted.

Personal Experience summaries from investigators on the investigation:
Scott:
In the finished basement – heard movement and tapping noises twice that sounded like they were coming from the upstairs offices. Ed asked the girls if anyone had moved and they replied no, but thought that they had heard something as well.
In office no. 4 – twice heard the same movement sound in the right hand corner of the office. Both sounds occurred during an EVP session and seemed to happen after asking about a doctor.
Front office/Base – Ed and I both heard, about 3 or 4 times, tapping on the pictures behind us.
Landing in the stairwell going from the main floor to the finished basement – As with Pat, definitely smelled a wood-smoke scent.
Gretchen:
1. While taking baselines with Beth. I got two unexplained spikes in EMF. One in office 6, 0.4 spike it stayed for 4secs and then went away. I could not recreate it. It went from 0.0 to 0.4. Over the client’s chair furthest from the door.
2. The other unexplained spike was in Office 3 during sweep. 0.0- 0.4, there 4 sec. and could not recreate between the two client chairs.
3. The flashlight came on in one of the rooms without it responding again to our questions. I thought it was Office Five.
4. Thought I heard light shuffles and taps in Office four during silent EVP where I was sitting in the client chair in office 5. Shuffling my have come from out in the hall- Pat’s jacket.
5. Heard tapping in the hallway outside the green bathroom, right after I heard that, Ed radioed in that they heard light tapping seemed to be coming from upstairs near Office 4 or 5.
6. Heard a mans voice say 4-5 words (muffled). Ed and Scott were both downstairs in the basement of the house. I was sitting at base and Pat and Beth were having a conversation about time. Seemed to come from outside room 10…that area.
7. There was a huge EMF spike out side Room 10, at the power box although it was only high up against the box. Could be why people feel creeped out in that area, may also be why the voices we did hear were right there..
Pat:
I only had one personal experience. When we were doing a walk through, I heard a male voice at the top of the stairs going to the unfinished part of the basement. I also saw the flash light go off when I was in one of the offices with Beth and Gretchen but I don’t think it was paranormal. I smelled wood smoke around the top of the stairs coming up from the finished part of the basement. I thought you also heard one set of footsteps that wasn’t me. These were back in the area of Room 4.
Beth:
No personal experiences.
Ed:
While I was at base I had a buzzing sound in my left ear twice, it lasted just for a second each time. I didn’t see any flying insects that may have caused it but I can’t say it was paranormal. I heard some tap noises that we could duplicate by tapping a fingernail on one of the pictures behind us, still can’t say it was paranormal never did it upon request and seemed random. While in the finished part of the basement I heard a tapping noise coming from the floor above, could not find a cause.
